Pulse - PEMF
Pulsed Electro-Magnetic Field is a system that stimulates cells to help them address cellular dysfunction and to promote general wellness.
What is PEMF?
- Referred to as “Cellular Exercise”
- PEMF stimulates and exercises the cell, it is as if the cell “wakes up” and starts doing what it needs to do
- “Pulsed Electro-Magnetic Field is a modality that stimulates and exercises the cells to address cellular dysfunction and support overall wellness.”
- The use of electromagnetic field for wellness dates back to the 19th century
How PEMF Works
- The partitioning of charged molecules and ions across membranes in and around the cell gives rise to chemical reactions and ion movements
- Redox reactions and ion movements
- Magnetic fields promote myogenesis via TRPC1-mitochondrial axis
- TRPC1 protein involved in this study is a voltage-gated ion channel located on the plasma membrane of cells
- PEMF helps orient TRPC1 so that it better facilitates the movement of calcium ions (Ca2+) into the cell
- Calcium ions aid in production of calcineurin which supports the immune system
- Stimulates epigenetic cascades that support production of the mitochondria
- More mitochondria generates more ATP for the cell
- Central impact of PEMF is moving Ca2+ ions and stimulating mitochondrial respiration and reproduction, which in turn produces more energy for the cell
PEMF Correlation to Enhanced Energy, Endurance, and Performance
- Based on a study tested on rats, after a PEMF session the blood flow was 20% greater than the blood flow of the control subjects
- Blood flow after 60 minutes of treatment was higher than a 15 minute PEMF treatment
- Researchers concluded that PEMFs improved blood flow, enhanced oxygen consumption, and boost ATP production by facilitating electron transport
Benefits Of PEMF
- Optimize Wellness- Non- Invasively
- Amplification of natural energy encourages the body to function more effectively for overall wellness
- Enhance the Body’s Natural Recovery Process
- Address underlying cellular dysfunction by stimulating and exercising the cells
- Assist with Muscle Fatigue & Discomfort After Exercise
- Complement any training program
- Supports General Relaxation
- Soothing and restorative modality
- Experience More Energy, Naturally
- Catalyst for energy
- Amplify Athletic Performance
- Increase Range of Motion
- Loosening muscle fibers may allow the animal to move freely through the shoulder and hips for a longer, smoother stride
How Long Does a PEMF Session Take?
- On a large animal it lasts 30-45 minutes
- Large animal loops deliver 2 separate pulsing electromagnetic fields and give the opportunity to pulse the legs and body at the same time
- Small animals last 20-60 minutes, depending on how many areas are worked
How are PEMF sessions performed?
- Flexible rubber loops can be placed over any larger animal’s body
- Pules are delivered to the animals body and the strength may be adjusted to the animal’s comfort level
PEMF Therapy is an excellent option for all horses and their riders. This 40 minute session is not only enjoyable for your horse but it also has been shown to increase recovery time and it provides a wide range of benefits.
Benefits include:
